Microsoft ready to launch Cortana on Smartphones

Just a few weeks back, an early version of Cortana was released, (some might say leaked) by Microsoft. However, on 24th August, Microsoft officially launched the public beta version of Cortana for Android. It'll be available for IOS users later this year.

It is good to know that Android version of Cortana is offering the same functionalities like searching web and your own stuff, finding music, opening apps, setting reminders etcetera, like it was offering for Windows 10 and Windows Phone users. Also, if no one cares if it’s your birthday and you’re the only one who knows that, my friend, she, Cortana would love to sing Happy Birthday to you.

The most promising feature offered is “Notebook” which makes sure that Cortana keeps on learning from you. So, like available in the Google Now, you’ll get updates for the upcoming matches of your favorite team. Your taste and preferences in the food and lifestyle will let her offer you better choices for cuisines and fashion. In short, she’ll not bore you.

The one and only feature it’s missing in the Android version is that unlike in Windows 10 and Windows Phone, you can’t activate it by saying, “Hey Cortana”, or whatever you call your bae when you feel sexy, so this is a major setback.

Still, beta testers and people who own Android but have any sort of issues with their current launcher can give it a try. Here is the link for to become its beta tester
